ANC aims to fill up FNB Stadium

The three major parties have been hard at work campaigning for local government elections on August 3.
The ruling ANC in Gauteng has set itself the target of filling the 94-000-seater FNB Stadium in Soweto for its provincial election manifesto launch on Saturday.
Attendance at election rallies came into the spotlight in April when the ANC’s national manifesto launch failed to fill the 46-000-seater Nelson Mandela Metro Stadium in Port Elizabeth to capacity.
Gauteng Premier and ANC Deputy Chairperson David Makhura spoke at a workshop for volunteers.
“We have concluded our processes which often divide a lot of our members. Now, we are focusing on the campaign and you will see the first message we are sending, that FNB stadium will be full. Where we have made mistakes? We, ourselves, would like to work with the people of our province and our cities to fix those problems.”
